ON THE PATH OF THE DHARMA

A Journey Along the Border of the Outer and Inner Worlds

Sárdi Attila, Szántó Gábor

According to the Buddha’s teaching, understanding becomes experiential through practice. We, too, walk this path—learning and experiencing the nature of the mind, the power of meditation, and the possibilities of achieving inner peace. Over the years, we have not only deepened our understanding of spiritual teachings but have also come to know the practical side of Buddhism through personal experience. Both of us graduated from The Dharma Gate Buddhist College, majoring in Buddhist Meditation. As Dharma teachers, our goal is to share our experiences with others—this is not a final destination, but an ongoing journey of discovery and growth.

Attila Sárdi - Dharma Teacher

For more than twenty years, I have been engaged in exploring the inner path and the deeper layers of self-knowledge. Eastern philosophies and practical wisdom help me accompany others on their own journeys toward a more conscious and balanced life.

My deeper connection with Eastern teachings began when I searched for spiritual and practical methods that could bring real and lasting change to everyday life. These experiences shaped not only my personal development but also the way I support others on the path of awareness.

A pivotal role in this process was my time at The Dharma Gate College, where I studied meditation, mindfulness, and Eastern philosophical traditions in a structured way.

Today, as the head of the Bhavana Association, I facilitate self-development and community programs aimed at cultivating balance, body–mind harmony, and mindfulness. My methods are based on the triad of meditation, movement, and conscious presence.

For me, genuine growth lies in integration—uniting Eastern wisdom with the challenges of modern life. This is the approach I seek to share with those who are not only looking for change but transformation.

Gábor Szántó - Dharma Teacher

I am a simple practitioner, with dedication and spiritual aspiration that for me means self-discipline and vision—some kind of a faith directed toward the future. As a Dharma teacher, I try to share with others the secondary nature of external values and the importance of inner ones, such as compassion. In a world dominated by the five senses, taming the mind is no easy task, for, let’s be honest, there’s often a small circus going on in all of our heads. Reaching the object of our desire only brings new cravings. In today’s world of acquisition, contentment is fleeting—it soon vanishes, and longing remains. Thus, a true practitioner cultivates letting go and contentment.

I once studied English and French literature, but my real adventures were not found in books—they were found out in the world. I have travelled around the globe, lived in the USA, England, and China, and spent months in Nepal, Thailand, and New Zealand. I believe that to truly know one’s homeland, one must sometimes step far away from it, to be able to observe it from different perspectives—only then can the real picture crystallize.

For me, Buddhism is the art of clarity and simplicity. The goal of practice is to see things as they really are. A quieted mind can see beyond appearances and establish an inner order in which we can finally hear the voices of others as well. In that very moment, compassion arises naturally.

If you were to ask why I chose this path, I would say: “Because every step brings me closer to being able to help others in the most suitable way.” Well… perhaps also because I really do love Asian spicy food.

On the Path of Wisdom and Compassion

We both believe that the Buddha’s teachings are not abstract theories but practical guides that help us face life’s challenges with awareness and harmony. During our studies at The Gate of the Dharma Buddhist College, we immersed ourselves not only in traditional Buddhist teachings but also in how they can be applied to modern life situations. Our teachings aim to offer you tools that help in developing self-knowledge, managing stress, and fostering physical and mental harmony.

The Power of Community

On this journey, you will not only discover distant cultures but also become part of a supportive community. Together, we set out on a path where, through shared experiences and practice, everyone can reach a deeper understanding. If you are ready to explore not only the world but yourself as well, join us on this special spiritual journey!

Participation Framework and Nature

This program is not a tour organized by a travel agency but an intimate, community-oriented, and spiritual journey. We visit sacred places together that are the sources of teachings—places where these teachings were born and remain alive today.

1. Nature of the Organization and the Bhávaná Association's Mission:

The Bhávaná Buddhist Association is not a travel agency but a civil organization whose goals are:

  • Supporting mental and spiritual health,
  • Preserving the cultural heritage of Eastern philosophies,
  • Community development based on the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and mindful, environmentally conscious living,
  • deepening cultural diversity and understanding.

In this spirit, the Association organizes spiritual and community study trips and programs to facilitate deepening—not for commercial purposes but with the intention of raising awareness, self-knowledge, and learning.

The organization is conducted by a representative appointed by the Association, Attila András Sárdi, acting on its behalf as a volunteer.

2. Practical and Financial Conditions of Participation:

Participation involves several independent financial steps. The Bhávaná Association does not sell travel packages; costs are settled separately among the parties involved.
