MAY 17–31, 2026

14 DAYS / 12 NIGHTS - Half board

China is a living source of Buddhist tradition.

For us, China is not the world of modern metropolises, but the land where Buddhist tradition has flourished over centuries. Ancient monasteries, sacred places hidden in mountains, and the heritage of great masters open living gates to inner silence and the spiritual path.

Discover ancient monasteries and sacred mountains.

On our journeys, we help ensure that historical temples and sacred places are not mere reminders of the past but become personal, self-awareness experiences. As the wisdom of ancient China unfolds before you, a deeper insight and inner strength may also arise within you.

China’s spiritual face is not just for tourists.

When you travel with us, you explore China not merely as a tourist but as a spiritual seeker. Walking the paths of Buddhist heritage, you experience the meeting of culture, history, and inner journey.

After breakfast, take a walk on Xi’an’s ancient city wall. This is one of China’s best-preserved and oldest city walls, reflecting the empire’s military strength and the city’s rich history. The visible wall today was built around 1370 during the Ming dynasty under the orders of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang to strengthen the city’s defense.

The day continues at the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, one of Xi’an’s most important Buddhist monuments. The pagoda was built to store Buddhist sutras and statues brought back from India by the legendary monk Xuanzang. It remains a living monument to the teachings, where past and spiritual heritage meet.

DAY 9 | SONGZANLIN, BAIJI, AND DUKEZONG – THREE FACES OF TIBETAN CULTURE

Today, we explore three special sites that showcase both the spiritual richness of Shangri-La and the depth of Tibetan culture.

First, we visit the Songzanlin Monastery (also known as Ganden Sumtsenling), one of the most important centers of Tibetan Buddhism in China. It is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery complex in Yunnan Province, founded in 1679, located at 3,380 meters altitude at the foot of Fopingshan Mountain. The monastery is a place of spiritual practice, meditation, and teaching, often called the "Little Potala Palace.

Next, we visit the Baiji Monastery, also associated with Tibetan Buddhism. It stands in a picturesque setting near Qinghai Lake and holds historical, cultural, and spiritual significance.

Finally, we stroll through Dukezong’s old town, the heart of Shangri-La. Its ancient streets and traditional Tibetan buildings evoke the spirit of the past. Here, the "outer" cultural heritage of Shangri-La meets the search for the "inner" Shangri-La – a symbol of inner peace and harmony.

Lunch at a local restaurant, dinner on your own.

Stay: Shangri-La, E-Long Hotel vagy Hilton Garden Inn Hotel | 1 night

DAY 10

This range holds religious significance for Tibetan Buddhists, where nature and spirituality intersect: snow-covered peaks, glaciers, and mountain monasteries offer experiences of inner silence and meditative contemplation.

Along the way, we visit the Mingyong Glacier, China’s lowest-lying glacier at 2,200 meters altitude, extending 11.7 km in length and averaging 500 meters in width. The stunning ice landscape reflects both the power of nature and the spiritual importance of the mountains.

Later, transfer to the Feilaisi Monastery, a Tibetan Buddhist temple in Deqin County, where the atmosphere of traditional monastic life and meditation awaits visitors.

Lunch at a local restaurant, dinner on your own.

Participation Framework and Nature

This program is not a tour organized by a travel agency but an intimate, community-oriented, and spiritual journey. We visit sacred places together that are the sources of teachings—places where these teachings were born and remain alive today.

1. Nature of the Organization and the Bhávaná Association's Mission:

The Bhávaná Buddhist Association is not a travel agency but a civil organization whose goals are:

  • Supporting mental and spiritual health,
  • Preserving the cultural heritage of Eastern philosophies,
  • Community development based on the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha and mindful, environmentally conscious living,
  • deepening cultural diversity and understanding.

In this spirit, the Association organizes spiritual and community study trips and programs to facilitate deepening—not for commercial purposes but with the intention of raising awareness, self-knowledge, and learning.

The organization is conducted by a representative appointed by the Association, Attila András Sárdi, acting on its behalf as a volunteer.

2. Practical and Financial Conditions of Participation:

Participation involves several independent financial steps. The Bhávaná Association does not sell travel packages; costs are settled separately among the parties involved.

3. Cancellation Policy.
  • The deposit is non-refundable.
  • Refunds of advances paid to foreign partners are subject to their rules.
  • Cancellation of flight tickets and visas is subject to the respective service provider’s regulations.
  • Cancellation must be notified in writing to the organizer.
4. Application Statement.

”I accept the participation conditions and acknowledge that the Bhávaná Association is not a travel agency. I will settle the participation fees separately with partners and at my own responsibility. I transfer the deposit to Attila Sárdi, the appointed representative of the Association. I understand that the deposit is non-refundable.”
